What is a BBL™ Photofacial?
A BBL™ (Broad Band Light) Photofacial is a laser resurfacing technique using Sciton® technology to rejuvenate the skin, reduce the pigment from sun damage, and diminish redness from rosacea. One of the advantages of a BBL™ Photofacial is that there is little or no downtime with this non-invasive procedure. The result of this technique is healthy, younger looking skin. BroadBand Light (BBL)TM is the world’s most powerful IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) device on the market. It sets new standards in treating skin conditions associated with aging, active life styles, and sun damage.

Most patients received multiple BBL treatments per year for an average of ten years. At the end of the study, doctors judged the patients to appear 11 years younger than their actual age.
BBL is used to treat the following issues associated with aging, active lifestyles and sun damage:
- Brown spots
- Red spots and area
- Acne
- Aging skin
- Hyper-pigmentation
- Rosacea
- Couperus and vascular conditions
How does BBL Work?
During a BBL treatment, the technician uses the device’s hand piece to expose the problem area with light energy of a specific wavelength, breaking down brown or red spots, reducing sun damage. The light energy is absorbed by the target area’s color, heating the cells and destroying them. As a consequence, enlarged blood vessels and redness caused by rosacea become less visible, while brown spots or hyper-pigmented areas darken and shed from the skin.
